The Kettlebell Snatch is More LEGS than You Think.
For www.KBmuscle.com visitors
The arm is a rope in the kettlebell snatch , the posterior chain is the engine.

They Don't like the Turkish Getup... But What about This?
Переглядів 3,3 тис.2 місяці тому
In short, the Turkish getup doesn't have to have the kettlebell at arm's length. IMO I think it's much better with the weight close to the body I've had many combat athletes and tactical users message me and say they love using heavy sandbags or other weights close to the body for doing Turkish get-ups Modifying the limiting factor of the shoulder stability {which is also why it's. a great move...

    Try it with heavier kettlebells. See how longer you last holding big kettlebells out like that versus holding big dumbbells out to the side. It’# always people trying demonstrate techniques using the smallest size kettlebell/dumbbell

    This is brilliant! I wonder if, from a minimalist point of view, this could be my go-to lower body workout from now on. What do you think? Would I be missing out on something by doing this and only this as my hip/hinge & squat exercises?

    I have hear the whoop can last in the suana and I think I have seen some studies where they said they used the Myzone. I have a polar H10, will that work in the suana?

      It should but it may get hot on ya! The whoop I had had metal parts and in the sauna it got too hot to be comfortable on my wrist. {same as my nose ring}

    I am in week 3 of kbomg1 single kettlebell version. I am humbled and impressed by the work involved with a single kb. The only downside is I’m going to have to buy a 28kg bell because I’m already snatching my 24 comfortably despite being new-ish to snatches. I can’t wait to see what the next five and half weeks bring.

    I was never attracted to lifting traditional weights. However, kettlebell training is more appealing because it seems like the movements relate to everyday life. (MY strong philosophy is to "Have something to show for it" - this is why I don't play video games.

    Hey Joe -- can you help me understand something? I'm trying to put together a basic program, already have double front squats/clean and press etc. but what is the benefit of rack lunges over front squats? Does it work a different muscle group? Like, similar to Bulgarian split squats or something? I like this movement a lot but want to make sure I'm programming them correctly

    • @kettlebellmusclegain

      Yes unilateral work. It's much tougher. Single leg work is always great to add. You could keep weight at sides like suitcases for different stimulus.

    I really like the way you explain things by showing.I went down to the base ment after watching this and started doing some snatches and was amazed at how much easier and smoother they went up,concentating on leg drive.I also did some heavyish cleans with 40kg bells.The same thing with cleans.They feel much easier when you explode with leg drive.

    I tried you technique and my satch feels 30% easier. I tried Sergey's (Russian kbell guy) technique and which looks cooler and smoother but it causes upswing to be harder in the snatch

    the snatch is a KB swing initiated by the posterior chain but guided by the arm.

    • @kettlebellmusclegain

      Yes but truly more of an upright motion so it can be a pull by the shoulder, semi jump with quads. But yes directed by the arm not muscled by the arm.

    • @kettlebellmusclegain
      @kettlebellmusclegain 11 днів тому

      Prob 24kg on video but you can never go wrong with 16kg and 20kg for longevity. I use 16 to 24kg in every workout at some point . Then you can go to doubles.

    Sounds like something a shill would say… 😂 I’m just kidding. People are crazy on the internet. Even if you were “shilling” for pro kettlebell, why not? Doesn’t every pro athlete and celebrity do that at some point for monetary gain?

  • @juliehock6059

    Joe, I feel quite ill when you start juggling with that bell……. I understand that it’s the legs which propel the bell upwards - correct? 👍

    • @kettlebellmusclegain
      @kettlebellmusclegain 11 днів тому

      Yes the arm is a a solid rope. Body moves arm shoulder and arm hand guides the bell. GUIDES NOT MOVES.

  • @MikeMoranX13

    Kettlebells are by nature minimalist, and that's exactly what allows you to push hard with them. I do feel like there is something to minimizing work and maximizing recovery, but I think people forget that the work has to be very high quality. If you do them right, kettlebells will smoke you in 5 minutes, get you stronger, build muscle, and build conditioning/endurance. Thanks Joe

    Hi Joe, great video, super informative. I recently realised how very limited my mobility is (too much sitting). This video has given me the confidence to start working on my overhead kb squat. My intuition tells me that this exercise is a great contributor to longevity. Thanks again.
